The airplane design is based on EASA JAR-VLA certified pilot training airplane

The SportStar MAX airframe design originates in advanced EASA JAR-VLA certified pilot training airplane Harmony; this means the SportStar MAX design comes from airplane that meets all the EASA airworthiness requirements for very light pilot training airplanes.


Highly durable advanced all metal airframe with all joints riveted as well as bonded for prolonged service life

The airplane has anodised and corrosion-proof aluminium airframe. It is the only S-LSA aircraft with all joints of construction riveted as well as glued/bonded for high durability and long service life - this plane will look and feel the same after 1,000 hours of flying as it did when it was a new!  Combination of riveting and bonding technology improves also airplane crash characteristics, eliminates dangerous unzipping in accidents and ensures smoother and quiter flight because drumming and flexing are absent.All heads of pop rivets are filled with sealing for high longevity of riveted joints and for smooth and clean surface of aircraft. Engine is the now legendary 100hp Rotax 912ULS

Legendary for its reliability and smooth operation. Now with a 1,500 hour time-before-overhaul (TBO), there are many still flying after 4,000 hours on the same crank.


Comfortable and luxurious cockpit

The spacious bouble canopy has shoulder width 46 1/2“ / 1.18 m, wider than many four-seat singles, and provides enough comfort also for big and tall pilots. Simple, light and with outstanding performance parameters

The latest design software was used for airplane design; the result is strong but at the same time very light construction with certified empty weight in basic configuration only 676 lbs / 307 kg. This gives the SportStarplus high useful load up to 591 lbs / 268 kg.  Reliable and effective low-maintenance split flaps give you excellent short field performance without the complexity of other designs. At appropriate settings, they will enable you to get into (and out of!) virtually any small strip – ‘If they’re good enough for the Spitfire and the Roulettes, they’re good enough for me!’ – SportStar customer.
