- The SportStar MAX is manufactured by EVEKTOR-AEROTECHNIK Inc., a Civil Aviation Authority certified aircraft manufacturer from the Czech Republic that has more than 35 years experience in aircraft manufacturing and distribution network in over 40 countries worldwide. The SportStar MAX uncrompromising build quality is based on EASA Part 21 certfied aircraft production and ISO 9001:2000 Quality management system. The SportStar is manufactured under the same procedures as certified aircraft.
- Is the SportStar MAX certified?
- Yes. The SportStar has become the very first aircraft on the market which received the US FAA Special Airworthiness Certificate in the S-LSA category. It has been already type certified / approved also in Canada, Australia, South Africa, CzechRepublic, Romania and other countries.
- Where the SportStar MAX design comes from?
- The SportStar design is based on EASA JAR-VLA fully certified very light aircraft Harmony for pilot training and EuroStar – worldwide popular advanced ultralight airplane.

- The SportStar MAX has top quality and durable all metal anodised and corrosion-proof aluminium airframe. It´s the only S-LSA aircraft that has a riveted and also bonded/glued construction. This build highly improves strength and fatigue characteristics and prolongs so airframe service life. Riveted + bonded construction provides also better protection in accidents - no dangerous “unzipping” and also smoother and quiter flight – “drumming” and flexing is absent.
- What is the SportStar MAX useful load and empty weight?
- The SportStar has a certified basic Empty Weight only 676 lb / 307 kg. It gives the SportStar one of the highest Useful Load among the LSA airplanes – 591 lb / 268 kg (basic aircraft); 522 lb / 237 kg (widely equipped aircraft).
Be aware that the value of Useful Load parameter is decisive for possible weight of fuel, baggage, occupants and optional equipment. Even if MTOW of your aircraft reaches the LSA limit 1323 lbs the Useful Load can be low if the aircraft Empty Weight is too high.
- What are the SportStar MAX performances?
- When comparing aircraft performance parameters - of several airplanes be sure that you compare CAS values (Calibrated Airspeed). Some manufactureres purposely publish TAS values (True Airspeed) as the True Airspeed (TAS) is higher with growing altitude.
- Is the SportStar MAX designed also for glider towing?
- The SportStar MAX is designed, tested and certified for towing of the sailplanes up to 700 kilos (Duo Discus, Janus, Ventus, ASK 21, Ventus, Blanik etc.) and also for towing banners up to 140 sq.m.
